Our Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. In visiting this website or blog page; if you sign-up to subscribe to our newsletter or to download content like a PDF guide, or if you submit a project inquiry your personal information is never shared or sold to third parties.  Within any newsletter received by email you have the option to unsubscribe at any time.

Our client names and addresses are not shared on our websites or in blog posts. Project illustrations, drawings and concept boards are edited to conceal personal information and, certain products or specs may be changed or swapped out to reflect a *similar look* for public sharing purposes out of respect for our paid client work.

There may be links from within our site to other websites, note that this Privacy Policy applies only to The Design Shop and Carol Reed Interior Design websites and not to websites of other companies or organizations to which our sites may be linked.  You must check on any linked sites for their privacy policy and use of cookies, and agree to their terms of use.  Links to third party websites are provided as a convenience, intended as a source of information only, we are not responsible for these linked websites, their services or products.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on a visitor’s device (computer, phone, etc.) when they visit our website and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. The files contain non-personally identifying information about the user’s visit like brower type, date and time, preferences and referring site. This website utilizes essential non personally-identifying built-in cookies to optimize its performance (user preferences etc), functionality (sharing to social media) and analytics (number of visitors, bounce rate, traffic source etc), all to improve the user’s experience.

This website also collects some potentially personally-identifying information, directly and indirectly, like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses from visitors’ devices, or email addresses provided on form submissions, however, The Design Shop.ca and Carol Reed Interior Design Inc. do not use this information to identify its visitors, and does not share such information other than under the circumstances that it uses and discloses above. 

Cookies are either single session or persistent (term based) for a given period, ie; 30 days (to ensure you don’t repeatedly see the same pop-ups). Visitors to our website who don’t wish to have cookies placed on their devices can opt out by clicking the ‘reject’ option on our cookie banner or, should go into their device settings and set their browser to refuse cookies before using The Design Shop website, with the drawback that certain features of our website may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

No Advertising

The website and blog are free of advertisements and contain no sponsored content. All content is personally written by Carol Reed. All recommendations and opinions are our own.

All written content, all interior design projects depicted on this website and all illustrations, plans, photography and concept boards are created by and/or are the property of Carol Reed Interior Design Inc. and The Design Shop.ca unless noted otherwise.  Sharing any of our content in any part or in whole on another website, app or publication is forbidden without first obtaining written permission from us in advance. Sharing images on social media platforms such as Pinterest, Instagram, or Facebook are permitted only when properly tagged, credited and linked back to this website and/or original post. Sharing or replicating content from Carol Reed Interior Design Inc. or The Design Shop.ca delivered via email or links within an email is strictly forbidden.
